OLP and UNISON Moodling for Health

Moodling for Health conference January 21st 2009
Rapid growing interest in the learning platform Moodle has led OLP to organise a 'Moodling for Health' conference. OLP is working with a number of NHS Trusts to help them develop their Moodles and now they will get a chance to come together to exchange experience.

NHS Trusts already registered to attend include those based in Chelsea, Harlow, Medway, Hillingdon, Dartford and North Cheshire.

To find out more about the conference or to apply to take part, go to our Moodling for Health website.

First ITQ certificates
Congratulations to four members of staff at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow on success in achieving the nationally-recognised ITQ qualification. The staff are all members of the patient records team at the hospital. They gained the qualification through a mixture of online exams and submitting a portfolio of work-related IT tasks. The four were supported throughout by the OLP health care assistant project.

Greek links
OLP has made links with the Athens-based organisation HELMAC which is setting out to develop elearning. OLP chief executive Doug Gowan visited HELMAC in October and ran a training session for their staff. Possibilities for European funding to support this work are being looked at.
