Welcome!
Creating Partnerships
is an online resource designed to support creative collaboration
between libraries, museums and the arts. It
is aimed at middle and senior managers involved in developing and
building strategic partnerships.
It
demonstrates how libraries, museums and the arts can work together
to develop inspirational cultural partnerships that draw new audiences
in new ways.
It provides a step-by-step guide on how to build your partnership
in a way that is fruitful and sustainable in the longer term.
The on-line format makes it easy to pick out the information you
need, depending on whether you are looking for the evidence and
arguments to support partnership building, funding
for project development, help in overcoming obstacles
or support for other aspects of working together.
If
you prefer you can also print the tool kit out as a word
document for reference.
Creating
Partnerships draws upon the East Midlands
Books
Connect project, which was designed as a pilot
to demonstrate how books and reading can inspire new ways of working
together. Its aim is to promote a new sort of multi-dimensional
book experience that is creative and empowering for individuals,
groups and communities, helping them to grow and learn and to broaden
their cultural horizons.
