Nearly half of children in London surveyed say they do not play out as much as they like.
We want to change this.
A third say they would play out more if it were safer. This is around 10% higher than the UK average.
We aim for every child in London to have high quality, accessible and inclusive play opportunities. We campaign for more and improved play spaces and services, and support playwork in the capital.
Natural Play
London Play has launched a new funding initiative designed to create a number of new natural play areas, in some of the most economically deprived areas of the capital.
Street Play
The Street Play project will facilitate 100 road closures, giving children a rare opportunity to play out on their streets. It seeks to provide safe, free to access, play opportunities right outside the door.
Adventure playgrounds
There are over 80 adventure playgrounds in London providing the capital's children with the opportunity to take adventurous risks, safe in the knowledge that professional help is there if needed.
